1979 Swedish camper (LHD) £1,750.
It has:
The van comes with a 1600 engine, which is a brand new case with a totally brand new big end, e.g. crank, shells, conrods, cam, cam followers, oil pump, barrels and pistons. It's got a brand new alternator which has only been used a couple of times. All the rest of the bits are there to build the engine back up, including carb, manifold, coil, dizzy, all cooling tins - will just need auxiliary parts which are minor such as plugs, fan belt, etc.
The welding that needs to be finished is as follows (all panels to finish are included in sale):
In timescale it should take approx 2-3 weeks to get the van welded and totally solid as we have done a lot of the work which includes:
Although there is work still needed this will be a very good van for a relatively cheap price. It wouldn't really take much more time and money to get it completed and it will not cost you anywhere near what these are currently selling for. We are selling due to other projects and we can't keep them all (unfortuantely)!
This would be a really quick and easy project for someone who has the time to finish the welding.
Then it's just a case of putting it back together.
Get yourself a bargain at less than 2k!!
If you do decide you to buy, it will need to be trailered home as no tax or MOT but the V5 form is present.
If you have any questions or if you would like to come and view the van, please feel free to contact us through this forum.
This van has been reduced twice now and it's the very lowest price we can accept.

It has:
- 3/4 bench seat up front with the driver's seat (non-walkthrough)
- new front windscreen seal
- dashboard fitted and complete
- original front cab floor mat is in
- bench seat and drivers seat located which were a nightmare to find!
- front non-walkthrough bulkhead was located as this would have been in the van originally - this was a nightmare to get hold of - just needs finishing
- the sliding door was also a nightmare to find with it being LHD and panel van cut window
- the front beam is in excellent condition - no rust at all
- both bumpers and the rear is an original Westfalia towbar which is extremely hard to get hold of
- the pop-up roof we've taken off and removed the canvas as this was completely rotten and ripped - just needs a new canvas - all the mechanisms are there
- the rear cargo door is rust free and has a heated rear window
- all glass is there other than the sliding door window but should be easy enough to get hold of
- servo brake assisted model - which means when the van is running the brakes will be super-sharp
- engine lid isn't great but could be worked on
- the chassis is absolutely spot on as we have removed some of the original underseal to reveal the original paint in almost pristine condition
- guttering in great condition
- all light units complete, except headlight rims which you can get easily
- no interior as we never got that far...
- electric hook-up on the nearside (looks like a hole in the pictures)

The welding that needs to be finished is as follows (all panels to finish are included in sale):
- a couple of patches in cab floor
- a couple of patches on the front bulkhead (this was a replacement bought by us as whoever had it before us cut it out but badly)
- outer sill on the offside below sliding door
- front arch needs finishing off as it's been partly tacked in (new genuine VW one)
- jacking points and outriggers
- It will need another cab door (nearside) as we haven't got around to getting one yet.
In timescale it should take approx 2-3 weeks to get the van welded and totally solid as we have done a lot of the work which includes:
- new rear arches (welded in, finished and prepped)
- 2 rear quarters
- rust-free sliding door located with the proper panel van cut window
- new Californian imported offside cab door - totally rust-free and in excellent condition
- front nose panel has been replaced at some point but has had a spare wheel carrier fitted which has now been removed
- inner and outer sill on nearside have been finished but need prepping
